Resurection Chapter 1: Act 1 - Ancient Training Jared Talzuk, a joung Jedi and his master are sat round a small fire in the hut on ancient Corellia. Both are apparantly meditating. ANCIENT JEDI MASTER The time has come. There is no more I can teach you and the final part of your journey is one that you must face alone without my guidance. Now is the time to go forth into the wilderness. Meditate on yourself. Feel the force in and around you. The master points to the sword at Jared's side. ANCIENT JEDI MASTER Remember your training for it will always serve you. JARED But how can a sword such has this stand up to the power of these new weapons? Should we not embrace the new ways? ANCIENT JEDI MASTER Indeed we must change or risk becoming static and inflexible. I teach you the ancient ways in the hope that you will learn to rely on your own strength, not the strength of your weapon. The master takes the sword from Jared ANCIENT JEDI MASTER This is meerly a conduit for your will. If you fully feel the force and have focus, this will stop anything. The Master hands the sword back to Jared. He nods in agreement. ANCIENT JEDI MASTER Besides, I have yet to build one of these new weapons for myself. That is a task we can undertake together when you return. Jared stands, bows to his Master and walks off into the forest, slinging his pack onto his shoulder as he turns. FADE OUT: FADE IN: STATIC SHOT SOMEWHERE IN THE FOREST Jared walks into shot. He is not rushing just taking his time, and taking in all he can around him. CUT TO: Close up of a plant Jared bends down, touches the plant, feeling the surface of the leaf and then picks some. He stands up and sniffs the leaf before putting it in his pack. He looks around himself some more and walks out of shot. CUT TO: Another shot in the forest, maybe at night. Jared is sitting near a small camp fire, cooking something in a pot. He lifts a spoon out of the pot, and tastes the contents. CUT TO: A clearing in the forest Jared is training with his sword, running through a form. At the end he places the sword in front of his face, hand by the side as though he is concentrating his will on the base of the blade. He finishes and puts his sword back in his belt and then sits down to meditate. PAN AROUND JARED MEDITATING CUT TO: Close up of Jared's face. Jared's eyes snap open and he looks to his right. He senses something near by. He stands and begins walking around the clearing looking around and trying to work out what he senses and where it's coming from. He begins walking in one direction out of his clearing. CUT TO: Close up of a large tree in the foreground shot. Jared walks past the tree still looking around and then stops just past it. He turns and looks at the base of the tree. He knows where it is now. He kneels down in front of the tree and begins to dig. He stops for a second, closes his eyes and then slowly pushes his fingers into the earth. He pulls out a large white crystal that seems to glow from the inside. He inspects it closely, feeling it's surface. This crystal gives off a strange power. ANCIENT SITH Thanks for finding that for me. CUT TO: Low shot from the ground. Jared in the foreground and the Ancient Sith leaning against a tree near by. ANCIENT SITH I've been looking for that for many days. Jared springs up, putting the crystal in his pocket and drawing his sword to challenge the Sith. The ancient Sith looks at Jared's sword with a mocking expresion. He laughs and reaches for his own belt. ANCIENT SITH You think your trainning weapon can withstand the power.... The ancient Sith ignites his lightsaber. ANCIENT SITH .... of a real weapon. Jared steps back, he has never seen a lightsaber before, and this is not how he wanted his first encounter. JARED (Under his breath) Well master, I hope you were right. He looks to the Sith with confidence again. JARED You could not find the crystal because you only listen with your ears and not your heart. That is the problem with you Sith. You have no understanding of the true power of the Force. Jared raises his sword in front of his face, guard level with his nose, his left hand by the the side of the blade base. He shuts his eyes, focuses and then turns the blade pointing to his left. In one movement he opens both arms sweeping his left hand along the blade. The blade begins to glow and spark, almost like a lightsaber. Jared opens his eyes again, staring straight at the Sith and takes up an en-guarde position. JARED There is much you do not understand. Jared and the Sith fight. Towards the end of the fight, the Sith catches Jared across the head, knocking him to the floor and ruining his focus. CUT TO: Close up of Jared's sword. The glow on Jared's sword flickers and goes out. CUT TO: Low shot of Jared the Sith in the background. Jared rubs his head and the Sith sees his chance. His eyes widen and he jumps forward to finish Jared off. Jared tries to raise his sword to a defensive position, but is a little too slow. CUT TO: Close up of the Sith's saber blade taking the end off of Jared's blade. The end piece goes flying. (Probably in slowmo) CUT TO: Behind shot of the Sith. (This shot should just obscure Jareds head with the Siths body) The Sith stands still, saber buried in Jared's head. Jared's arm falls to his side, dropping the sword. The Sith turns off his saber and reaches into Jared's pocket. He pulls out the crystal and puts it in his own pocket. The crystal seems to glow brighter now. CUT TO: Close up of Jared's face, there is a wound in the top of his forehead, right down the middle. The Sith runs off through the trees. FADE OUT: Chapter 2: Act 2 - The birth of Death (CAPTION - Many Millenia later) Darth Sedrin, a Sith lord, jumps down from a small bank and begins looking along the wall of the bank. He is searching for something. He is wearing a long black cloak has a pack on his back. He searches around some and then begins digging. CUT TO: Internal of the cave. It is pitch black. We can hear sounds of rocks mooving, digging. Suddenly a red saber blade flashes into the darkness and the entrace to the cave colapses revealing Darth Sedrin standing on the other side. Sedrin steps into the cave with his saber still lit, illuminating the interior of the cave and himself with a red glow. He is now using it as a torch. He looks around him and eventually finds what he is looking for. CUT TO: Close up of an alcove in the wall, all covered in dust and cobwebs. Sedrin brushes asside the muck to reveal a Sith burial marking. Serdin smiles to himself and sets off down the passageway into darkness. (long dead corpse lying in the wall alcove. It is now only a skeleton, a few bits of rag and some dust. Sedrin smiles to himself. He has found what he is looking for.) ROTATE TO BLACK ROTATE IN FROM BLACK A small fire burns in the middle of the chamber. By the fire sits Darth Sedrin, completely covered by his cloak, only his face exposed. He is chanting. Next to the fire is an altar, on which lies a dusty decayed body, covered in a black cloak. Sedrin stops as he senses Annubin and approach, but does not open his eyes or look up. DARTH SEDRIN Come in Annubin. Darth Sedin's apprentice, Annubin Sett, enters the chamber and looks around with a look of distain. DARTH SEDRIN I see that you have learnt something from me after all. Annubin glares at his master. ANNUBIN Why did you summon us here? DARTH SEDRIN With the Emporer and Lord Vader dead, it is up to those of us still left to destroy Skywalker and his new batch of Jedi. ANNUBIN But we are so few my master. How can we expect to defeat them on our own? Sedrin raises his face to his apprentice. DARTH SEDRIN We cannot. (Stares at Annubin) We must increse our numbers. Annubin looks around him. ANNUBIN Then what are we doing in this dusty old tomb surrounded by bones and rags? DARTH SEDRIN For one very good reason. CUT TO: Close up of Sedrin's hand as it reaches into a pocket and takes out a large red stone. Sedrin holds the stone in his hand and begins to concentrate. Annubin looks on, unimpressed. Suddenly a great spark errupts from the stone, knocking dust from the ceiling and it begins to glow. Sedrin begins to chant unintelligable words and the sparks start moving over his body, slowly and small at first, then more and more rapidly. Annubin stands and begins backing away towards the cave entrance. DARTH SEDRIN (Shouting) STAY!!! Annubin freezes on the spot, looking on, afraid for his life. Sedrin's chant rises, great sparks arc from the walls to his body. He stands and thrusts the red stone onto the corpse on the altar. Many sparks dart over the body and then with a great flash of light it is all over. A few risidual sparks appear on the body and then cease. Sedrin continues to look at the corpse as if waiting for something. Annubin begins to approach. He is nearly at his masters side, when the corpse sits bolt upright. Annubin jumps back and draws his saber, igniting it, ready to cut the resurected Sith down. Sedrin raises a hand, pushing his across the chamber and to the floor witha few sparks. Annubin's saber falls to the floor beside him. DARTH SEDRIN Don't be a fool. The resurected Sith gets up off the altar and then kneels. Sedrin tilts his head, looking at the Sith kneeling before him. DARTH SEDRIN Yes, I can hear you. Annubin picks himself up, puzzled. DARTH SEDRIN My bidding is simple. (placing a hand on the corpses shoulder) CUT TO: Close up on Sedrins mouth. DARTH SEDRIN (hissing his words) Destroy all Jedi you find. The resurected Sith nods, stands and walks out of the chamber. Annubin lets him pass and stares out of the entrance. He turns back to his master who is already sat at the fire again. DARTH SEDRIN You see Annubin. We have other ways to increase our numbers. (looking round the chamber) Bring the next one to me, and then summon your training partner here. FADE IN: Ardeth is standing at the bar with a drink looking about the place. CUT TO: Bar entrance. A man with a gun on his hip enters the bar, looks around and then signals to a man across the other side of the bar. He gets up from a table and walks to wards the door. As he passes Ardeth, the barman nods to him. BARMAN Thats him. Ardeth nods and tosses some credis on the bar and walks to the door. Ardeth follows Dar've and the other man round some streets. Eventually he turns a corner to find them no longer ahead of him. He searchers round for a while and finds no trace of them. Ardeth walks down an alleyway searching for the two men. Suddenly he is jumped from behind by Dar've who sticks a blaster to his head. DAR'VE I thought you agreed not to bring any of your lackies to this meeting. You remember what happened last time. The other man steps out of the darkness with his own blaster drawn and steps closer. He looks Ardeth up and down. MAN He's not one of mine. Might as well shoot him. Dar've looks down as Ardeth considering him. Ardeth looks worried. Dar've shoves him against a wall. DAR'VE Get out of here kid. You'll end up getting hurt if you stay. The other man points his blaster at Ardeth. MAN He'll end up dead. Ardeth draws his lightsaber just in time and deflects the blaster bolt up above the other mans head. MAN You missed. Another criminal type falls from a ledge behind the man. Ardeth shakes his head. Dar've raises an eyebrow. All three look around at each other in silence for a second, Ardeth pointing his saber at the man. Dar've dives into a doorway and starts blasting at the man. Ardeth is suddenly surrounded by incoming blaster bolts and runs for cover defelcting as he does, taking out three more hoods. CUT TO: Close up of Dar've firing from his cover. One of Dar'ves blasts catches the man in the leg and he falls into cover. Another hood jumps Dar've from behind wrestling him to the floor and knocking his blaster flying. They wrestle around for a second or two. (Shot with the hood on top of Dar've) The blade of Dar've's saber ignites through the hood and he falls sideways to the ground. Dar've stands to Find Ardeth taking out the last of the hoods, but the leader reamains, cowering in some cover. Dar've approaches the leader with the tip of his saber dragging along the floor. He stares down at the hoods leader with contempt. HOODS LEADER We can sort this out. Everything will be fine. I've got plenty of credits on me. He starts srabbling in his pocket. Dar've just stares with darkly and raises his saber. HOODS LEADER Jedi don't kill in cold.... He never finishes his sentence as Dar've trusts his saber straight into the top of his chest. DAR'VE Don't call me, Jedi. FADE IN: Ardeth Novan and his master Dar've Rodahn are walking through the Correlian Forest oh their way to another of many negotiations. DAR'VE Not all the negotiations will be as easy as that Ardeth. The Swooper gangs are a varied people. Some are most passive such as are previous hosts, but some are much more unpredictable. Some are loyal to the Empire, some to Jabba the Hutt, and some are just plain unpleasant. ARDETH Well I hope that our next hosts will be as pleasant as the last. DAR'VE We were lucky this time. And we will be lucky again if the next gang does not simply shoot us on sight. Ardeth looks at his master, worried and then shuts his eyes for a second as though concentrating. DAR'VE Don't force it. Meerly see the fear, accept it and realise the power it can have over you. Ardeth nods to his master. DAR'VE Still be on your guard though. The swoopers can be ruthless. ARDETH Why did you come along on this mission Master? I have been on many by myself recently and.... Dar've hold up his hand, silencing his apprentice. DAR'VE Do not take my presence here as a question of your abilities. Although the Swoopers usually congregate in groups of 3 or 4, somtimes there may be many more and there's nothing wrong with having a little backup is there. Remember, we learn by doing but you don't want to get yourself killed. Ardeth nods. ARDETH Where are we going next? DAR'VE Where ever the force takes us, but that ways not too hilly. (pointing) A young girl is sat in a room in a medative position. She has three rocks on the floor in front of her. She closes here eyes and concentrates. One of the rocks starts to wobble and nearly lifts. YOUNG GIRLS MOTHER. (off camera in another room) Time for evening meal. The young girls eyes snap open and the rock drops. She looks annoyed and stares at the rock. YOUNG GIRL FORCE USER (under her breath) Thanks Mother. (shouting) I'll be there shortly. She closes her eyes and begins to concentrate again. There is a noise from outside the room. YOUNG GIRL FORCE USER (quietly to herself) Remove all external distractions. She begins to concentrate again. One of the stones starts to lift and she smiles to herself. Suddenly her door crashes open, and in stomps a zombie Sith. She stares in horror at it and screams. ZOMBIE SITH (hissed) Dessssstroy Jedi.... The zombie lights his saber and swings it down towards her. CUT FADE IN: Another shot in the forest near a dip or some sort of cover. Ardeth and Dar've enter shot keeping low to the ground trying to conceal themselves. They drop down behind a small hill, looking over the top. DAR'VE What do you feel? ARDETH I think I sense the perimiter guard, but beyond that I cannot tell. DAR'VE What makes you think he's the perimeter guard? ARDETH He's bored, but I can feel him searching, observing. DAR'VE Very good. (beat) There is indeed a perimeter guard in a tree up ahead and group of around 5 or 6 just beyond that. They are paranoid and will scare easily. Ardeth looks around trying to sense what his Master describes, but is getting none of it. DAR'VE We should approach directly and trying to draw attention to ourselves. As they stand up and are about to walk forward, they both stop in place and begin to scan the area worried. DAR'VE (quietly) Tell me you felt that. ARDETH Oh yes. Dar've looks around, searching and then points in one direction. They both run off in that direction. CUT TO: Another part of the forest. Ardeth and Dar've run into a clearing and stop deap, searching. Suddenly they both look in one direction and in front of them is stood 2 resurected Sith. They light their sabers. Ardeth and Dar've both do the same, lookin at them in horror. DAR'VE (To noone in particular) What are you? ZOMBIE SITH 1 (hissed moan) Desssstroyyyy Jedi..... The fight. Ardeth and Dar've win of course. Sedrin is just finishing a resurection spell. The Zombie Sith gets up off the altar and kneels in front of Sedrin. There are already three others kneeling before him. He stares at the all and they nod, confirming his unsaid orders then stand and leave. DARTH SEDRIN Next. ANNUBIN There are only two left Master. DARTH SEDRIN No. Sedrin pushes the back wall of the chamber and the wall colapses. It reveals a long passageway dissapearing into darkness. There are may openings along the passage. DARTH SEDRIN There are many more. Annubin smiles devilishly and picks up another body. FADE OUT: FADE IN: Dar've is talking to a vid screen. Ardeth is listening intentlly and pacing around. DAR'VE These beings we encountered were not alive in the typical sense. They seem to have consiousness but it seems to be the same one. JEDI COUNCIL MEMBER A Sith plot is most certainly to blame here. DAR'VE I suspected as much. The strength of the dark side waves that eminated from them was like nothing I've ever felt before. It seemed somehow.... JEDI COUNCIL MEMBER (Finishing Dar'ves sentence) ....primal? DAR'VE Exactly. JEDI COUNCIL MEMBER We've already had three such Sith trying to infiltrate the Council headquarters. There have been more reports of sightings on Correlia, Dantooine and Yavin but Master Skywalker believes the main concentration to be on Correlia. Local sources confirm sightings at the starports there, but no sightings at any destination ports. DAR'VE I shall do my best to contact all Jedi on the planet. Maybe I can warn them to be on their guard. Our current mission is taking us all over the planet. JEDI COUNCIL MEMBER I'm afraid this matter must take top priority. (pause) By order of the Council you have been charged with the mission to track down the cause of these mysterious Sith and take whatever steps are required. Dar've pauses, not beliveing what he is hearing. DAR'VE I can not take on a mission of such paramount importance to the security of the Council. There must be others who can take on this mission. JEDI COUNCIL MEMBER Others? Yes, but it has been decided that this is the time for you to take an active role again. DAR'VE (suddenlly short) Yes. I understand. JEDI COUNCIL MEMBER You are ordered to put your current mission on hold and begin investigations into this matter imediatly. DAR'VE I understand. Dar've punches the dissconnect button and puts a hand to his face. DAR'VE (under his breath) I should have stayed in my quiet little hut.... ARDETH Master? Dar've looks round at his student, smiles and stands up. DAR'VE Get your things. We leave imediately. Ardeth looks at his master, puzzled and concerned. Dar've begins collecting things from around the room. ARDETH How will we find them? DAR'VE The force will guide us. ARDETH But where do we start? DAR'VE I know where to start and I belive I know where to end. Dar've is heading towards the door, Ardeth close behind. ARDETH Really? Where? Dar've stops in the doorway. He does not look at Ardeth. DAR'VE (nearly shouting) Ardeth. (he stops himself and returns to his normal tone) Ardeth, there is a reason this mission has been given to me. By the time this situation is over, you may learn some things about me that will end your apprentiship with me. ARDETH Master? DAR'VE You only know a small portion of what happened in my life. When you find out everything, you may not wish to call me Master any longer. ARDETH Whatever it is, you are my Master and mentor and nothing will turn me against you. No matter what is in your past, I'm still your pupil and friend. Dar've turns and faces Ardeth, putting a hand on his shoulder. DAR'VE I hope that is true. Get your things. Dar've leaves the hut. Ardeth finishes collecting things and follows his master our the door. FADE IN: Sedrin is performing another ritual on a corpse. He finishes the ritual and the corpse remains laying where it is. He waits for a few seconds and realises that nothing has happened. He is about to try again when a Sith lumbers into the chamber and kneels before Sedrin. The Sith accepts the orders and leaves. ANNUBIN What has happened master? DARTH SEDRIN I am unsure. There is something different about this one. (motioning to the corpse on the altar.) He refocuses and tries the ritual again with much more intensity. At the height of the energy build up he grabs the hand of Sith apprentice Ricky. Energy crackles through the two Sith. The force of the sparks and energy this time cause the chamber to shake and dust to fly everywhere. When it clears the corpse remains laying on the altar. Sith apprentice Ricky lies at Sedrin's side, dead. Annubin rushes to his side. ANNUBIN Ricky!!! DARTH SEDRIN What is this? ANNUBIN You killed him!!! DARTH SEDRIN I needed his energy and he was too weak to prevent his own destruction. Annubin stays bent over his fallen comrade. DARTH SEDRIN Leave him!!! Annubin stands away from the body and returns to his masters side. Sedrin contiues to inspect the corpse in front of him and looks puzzled. DARTH SEDRIN This one is different from the rest. Where did you find him? ANNUBIN In a chamber much like the rest, but the bodies were not in the walls, but laid out in a circle of five platforms. Sedrins head snaps round stareing Annubin right in the eye, frowning. DARTH SEDRIN Take me there. Annubin guestures down the passage at the back of the chamber and then leads the way. CUT TO: Annubin and Sedrin entering the MOD's (Masters Of Death) chamber. The four remaining bodies are layed out at four of the five points around the chamber. Sedrin walks into the middle of the pentagon, stops and stretches out his hands, eyes closed. He turns slowly on the spot, feeling the energy around him, until he is facing Annubin again. He stops and opens his eyes wide with anticipation. A craftly smile creeps across his lips. DARTH SEDRIN This cannot be... ANNUBIN Master? DARTH SEDRIN If I am not mistaken, these are the Asassins of Golg. (valley on Korriban) ANNUBIN Who? DARTH SEDRIN Were you never told the story? ANNUBIN No. Should I have? Annubin leaves, and Sedrin walks around inspecting the bodies, looking more and more excited and he goes. Annubin returns with the body and places it back where it belongs. FADE IN: (FLASHBACK) The Valley of Golg on Korriban. DARTH SEDRIN (voice over) It was the ancient times when the Sith dominated the surface of Korriban. Great temples were built. Great power was sought by all who could. Sith fought with Sith in feirce challenges for the right of dominance. Many died and the power of this place grew. From time to time some of the First Jedi would come to Korriban in search of training, adventure and the ultimate test of their power. Many turned to the dark side. Many were killed, but their numbers grew steadily. Cut to a shot of an ancient Sith master. MOD Leader in his early days. DARTH SEDRIN (voice over) Then a Sith Master called Kareb Dar decided that enough was enough. The scourge of the Jedi must be wiped out. Being one of the more powerful of the Sith on the planet he had dispatched many an adventure seeker and was trully aware of his own power. Had he not kept himself to himself he would most likely have assended to the rank of Supreeme Dark Lord, but Kareb had other plans. Shots of Kareb looking around passageways. DARTH SEDRIN On one of his many expiditions to what he believed to be focal points for dark energy he stumbled across something he did not expect. Within a tomb, in the hands of a long dead Sith lord he found a document that told of an incredible empowering technique that could bestow upon those with a great understanding of dark power, ultimate strength, enhanced life and incredible foresight. Kareb reading the document. DARTH SEDRIN Kareb found this impossible to resist. He knew that if he could make himself all powerful, he could defeat the Jedi and claim his place as the Supreeme Lord. He gathered four of his most trusted students and performed the ritual on himself and the others. Kareb and the 4 others sat in a circle, chanting and meditateing. DARTH SEDRIN It was a success. (pause) But the ritual had a side effect that they had not expected. (pause) They were no longer alive. The 5 standing in the chamber, checking their heart beats, etc.... DARTH SEDRIN The ritual had drained them of lifer, but left their minds completely intact. All they could look forward to was their bodies eventualy roting away and becomming useless. They set out of their mission to assasinate as many Jedi as they could in the time they had left. Shots of the MOD's killing Jedi. DARTH SEDRIN For almost a year they plowed across the galaxy leaving dead Jedi in their wake, holding their failing bodies together with pure hate and malice. (pause) On by one their bodies gave out on them, and they were compeled to return to the place of their assendence. Here they lay, with no possibility of doing anything, while their bodies slowly turnned to dust and their minds were eternally trapped by insanity and pain. Fade back to the chamber with Sedrin explaining. ANNUBIN Are you saying that their minds are intact in these dusty courpses? DARTH SEDRIN Not exactly intact, but active. The forest is dark and silent with only a breeze siring the trees. There is a flash of light. Sparks and a ball of flameing light. Jaden Talkuk drops to the ground screaming in pain. He props himself up and looks around him. He grasps at his head looking far the impact wound. It is not there. CUT TO: Ardeth and Dar've nearby in the forest. Ardeth and dar've look at each other, both seeing and sensing the resurection. DAR'VE Quickly, this way. They run off in the direction of Jared. They approach his possition, draw their sabers and light them. DAR'VE He's close. Jared jumps out from behind a tree and swings at Dar've. Dar've defends himself, stumbling backwards. ARDETH He's no Sith. Jared attacks Dar've again. JARED Die Sith fiend. Ardeth puts his saber in the way of Jareds swing and stares him in the face. ARDETH We are not Sith. We are Jedi. Ardeth pushes Jared backwards, and Dar've backs off. ARDETH Now, lower your weapon. Jared stares past Ardeth at Dar've, mistrustful. DAR'VE We should stop for the night. Ardeth, Dar've and Jared are sat in a small camp around a camp fire. Jared is glaring at Dar've and Dar've is avoiding his looks. Ardeth is explaining the current situation. ARDETH We are few, but growing in number. More Jedi are coming to the fold all the time. The remnenant still cause us problems but we are winning, slowly. JARED So much death and darkness. When I was just beginning my training things were much simpler. All I knew was my sword and the Force. Galaxy wide plots, empires and fear seem to have been the dominating force for some time. ARDETH Indeed it is so. What is the last thing you remember happening? JARED The last thing I remember is being sent out into the wilderness to complete my training. I was attacked by a Sith with a new weapon, much like yours and then..... I am unsure. I think I was defeated. I would not have been if I had kept my concentration. ARDETH You went up against a light saber with only a sword. JARED Not just my sword. There is much that flows from the force that I learnt of, that these modern weapons bring you no knowledge of. ARDETH (holding up his saber) To me this is an ancient weapon, but I would like to know of these other ways. JARED If time allows us, I can show you what I know. DAR'VE Why did you attack us? JARED My mind was still clouded. I sensed the dark energy and thought you Sith. ARDETH There is much dark energy in these woods at present. DAR'VE Someone is messing with dark, powerful forces. Ancient and primal. JARED Indeed. That could explain my presence here. Jared yawns wide. ARDETH You should sleep and regain your energy. Ardeth hands Jared a blanket and he lays down pulling it over the top of him. Ardeth goes to his master. ARDETH (quietly) Why do you think he though us Sith. Master? DAR'VE He sensed the dark energy in this place and I suspect some from myself. ARDETH From you? DAR'VE As I said Ardeth, there are things you do not know about me. I have darkness in my past and I feel the legacy of that past becoming stronger and stronger. Soon I must face the consequences of my past actions. ARDETH I will face it with you Master. DAR'VE No. This is mine alone to face. You will be facing your own trials. Ardeth sits back and contemplates his masters words. ARDETH He doesn't trust you, does he? Dar've looks across at Jared. Jared stirs in his sleep. FADE IN: (maybe) Close up of Ardeths face asleep. Ardeth is lying on his side. Suddenly his eyes open and he flips onto his back. It reveals Jared bending over him about to touch his shoulder. He puts a finger to his lips. JARED (whispering) Be silent. Wake your Master. Something aproaches. Ardeth jumps up from his sleeping place and hurries to Dar've. Jared is standing at the edge of the camp scanning the trees. Ardeth is shaking Dar've awake. Jared draws his sword. ARDETH Are you sure that a sword can fight against a saber. JARED As I said, there is more to the force that you know. Now quiet. Dar've arrives at their side. They all slowly split up and begin to circle the camp. From out of the trees a Zombie Sith attacks Ardeth. He jsut manages to get his saber lit and falls to the ground with the Sith pushing him downwards.. CUT TO: Close up of Ardeth and A Zombie Sith very close to his face. ZOMBIE SITH Ffffffoooolish Jedi..... Ardeth recoils from the smell, kicks the Sith off him an jumps to his feet. Dar've is about to go and help when he is attacked himself. Jared freezes in place making no movement to help. ARDETH Jared? They continue to fight and Jared stays motionless. JARED What maner of Sith beasts are these? A Sith is creeping up behind him. ARDETH Behind you! Jared drops and spins, slashing his sword behind him. The Sith falls, sliced across the belly. Jared's sword glows with energy. He stands and rushes to help Ardeth. The fight continues. Dar've defeats his opponent and Jared finishes off Ardeth's opponent. His sword glows with power and light. Jared helps Ardeth up. ARDETH I think I undestand what you mean now. Jared presents his sword still glowing. The glow dies and only a sword remains. JARED The force gives it strength. The lightsaber is a sith invention after all. ARDETH What? JARED The power that protects my blade is a Jedi skill that those who practice the dark side disiplines cannot understand. It is a defensive skill, and the Sith are only about offense. The Sith could find no way to counter this skill, so the lightsaber was born. Ardeth looks at the saber in his hand. ARDETH So this is a Sith weapon? Dar've butts in. DAR'VE Remember that it is not the wepon itself that is evil or bad, just the intent and action behind it. Jared glares at Dar've JARED Indeed this is true, but do not forget that they were born of evil and offense, now all Jedi carry them. Sedrin is trying to resurect the same sith again. ANNUBIN Master, there are many. Take another. Sedrin turns round, eyes blazzing in anger. He grabs his student by the neck and pulls him close. DARTH SEDRIN Do not tell me what to do, fool. Do not forget who is Master and who is apprentice. He throws Annubin to the floor vicously. DARTH SEDRIN Now go and patrol the passagways. The Jedi will be here soon. ANNUBIN Jedi! How can they know of this place. DARTH SEDRIN Because the one who searches for me now already knows of this place. Annubin looks shocked and scared ANNUBIN There will surely be more than one. I cannot face them alone. DARTH SEDRIN Take the two guards with you then, coward. Annubin leaves with a scowl. ANNUBIN Come!!! The two Sith guards at the door follow him out. DARTH SEDRIN Worthless fool. He begins to search the body and finds Jared's crystal on the body. He inspects it for a moment and then throws it aside. He begins the ritual again and this time the corpse gets up. It is the Sith that killed Jared. He kneels for a moment and then walks for the passageway. Near the door he stops and picks up the discarded crystal. ANCIENT SITH Foolishhhhhh Jedi. Sedrin turns round with a start. He has realised what the crystal is. DARTH SEDRIN Bring that to me. The ancient Sith hesitates. DARTH SEDRIN I command you, bring that to me. Sedrin stretches out his hand and the Ancient Sith brings the crystal to him. DARTH SEDRIN Now go. The ancient Sith leaves, somewhat reluctantly and Sedrin sits down infront of his fire with the crystal in his hand. DARTH SEDRIN To think I nearly discarded this. Sedrin closes his eyes and begins to chant under his breath. DISSOLVE TO: Chapter 3: Act 3 - Revelations and Torement. REMOVE THIS SCENE. A young jedi is training with his lightsaber in a forest. He pauses in his form with eyes closed. He opens then to see a Zombie Sith lumbering out of the trees towards him. ZOMBIE SITH Dieeeeeee Jedi....... The Sith lights his saber and comes closer. The young Jedi backs off slowly, raising his lightsaber. He stops suddenly, eyes wide. A Sith raises up to full height behind him. The Jedi looks down. (Pan down the camera) The Jedi is impaled on a Saber. The light saber goes off and he colapses to the floor. FADE OUT: (Shoot towards the entrance from inside. Silouete the characters in the light from the entrance) Jared, Dar've and Ardeth enter the passageways together. They begin to search the passageways. They walk down and into a small chamber off the passage. The chamber is full of empty grave areas in the walls. Dar've inspects one of the alcoves closely. DAR'VE These alcoves should have bodies in them. JARED Indeed. This is a burrial vault for the Sith of my time. Ardeth looks around, wide eyed. ARDETH How many of these chambers are there? How many bodies could there be? JARED This could be one of only three such vaults on this planet, used for many thousands of years or so. Dar've stares at the chamber and then steps back outside into the passage way. DAR'VE We search. Everyone take a passageway. I get the feeling that we will find what we are looking for when we find a remaining body. Use your com if you find anything. Dar've throws a com unit to Jared. Jared inspects the device. JARED More technology. Ardeth demonstrates the com units opperation. ARDETH Press here and talk. We will hear you. DAR'VE Don't try and deal with anything yourself. Keep your distance and use the com. Dar've stomps off down the passageway. Jared and Ardeth go in the opposite direction, and then split at an intersection of passages. CUT TO: montage of each Jedi searching passageways. Cut back and fourth between them. REMOVE MAYBE. Dar've is walking through passageways and inspecting empty chambers. There is a thump from a chamber beside him. He peeks in, sees nothing and continues. Sounds of breathing and echoy chanting reach his eays he listens intentally. An etherial voice calls his name and he turns round with a start. There is nothing there so he continues. Dar've enters another chamber to investigate another voice. He looks around and sees nothing. As he turns to leave, there is no longer an entrance there. He looks around the chamber confused. More voices begin to taunt him. DAR'VE Just a trick. He closes his eyes and concentrates, when he opens them the entrance to the chamber is there again. He leaves and continues down the passageway. He reaces a corner in the passage and turns in that direction. He walks into the darkness and then finds a dead end. He turns round and finds the way he came blocked. Voices taunt him again DAR'VE (shouting to the air) I'm not amused Sedrin. These tricks will not affect me. He closes his eyes and concentrates again. This time the blockage stays where it is. DARTH SEDRIN (etherial, in Dar'ves head) It's not all a trick, fool. CUT TO: Shot of a wall in the passageways. The wall explodes outwards, stone and dust flying eveywhere. Dar've stands at the hole, lightsaber in hand and on. DARTH SEDRIN (etherial, in Dar'ves head) I see the fire still burns. DAR'VE (shouting) Enough of this trickary. Show yourself Sedrin. Dar've looks around waiting for a response. There is none. Dar've continues walking and this time the intersection he reached has a passage leading in the correct direction. He follows this passage. Ardeth enters a chamber and finds it empty. He is wandering down the passage looking into each chamber as he passes. He stops and leans against a wall, pulling out his com unit. ARDETH Master, I'm finding nothing here. All the chambers are empty. DAR'VE (From the com unit) Keep searching. Theres certainly something here. Ardeth puts his com unit away and continues down the passage. (Shot out of a chamber.) He looks into the chamber and stops. (shot behind him looking into the chamber) Sat in the chamber is a hooded figure in silouete. Ardeth looks at it for a while waiting for something to happen. He walks into the chamber with his hand out going to touch the shoulder of the figure. He touches it's shoulder and it colapses on the floor. It's just a dusty skeleton. Ardeth stands up full again and goes steps out of the chamber. As he does an Axe swings down towards him. He just manages to get out of the way of the incomming attack. A Sith is bearing down on him already. Ardeth kicks the Sith backwards past the chamber entrance again. ZOMBIE SITH WITH AXE Jedi will dieeeeeeee.... From behind Ardeth a lightsaber lights, and another Sith lumbers out of the darkness. ZOMBIE SITH Dieeeeee Jediiiii.... Thinking quickly Ardeth rushes towards the advancing Sith with Axe, avoids the next swing and spins himself through the chamber opening, leaving himself behind the Axe weilding Sith. He draws his saber and lights it. ANNUBIN STOP!!!! The two Sith freeze in place and Annubin Sett steps into view. ANNUBIN Greetings young Padawan. Where's you master? ARDETH My master is most likely searching your yours. ANNUBIN Oh yes. The great Dar've Rodahn. Jedi Master and lying pile of Gurncat dung. ARDETH Silence Sith fool. You know nothing of my Master. Annubin studies Ardeth for a moment, a smile creeping across his face. ANNUBIN I know more than you think, young one. If anything I owe most of my current abbility to him. ARDETH What foolishness do you speak of? ANNUBIN He hasn't told you has he? ARDETH Told me what? ANNUBIN He's not who you think he is. ARDETH I know who he is. ANNUBIN He was one of us. Ardeth steps back shocked. ARDETH Never. ANNUBIN Enough talk. Destroy him. The Zombie Sith advance. The one with the saber attacks first, which Ardeth blocks but the Axe weilding Sith slices towards him. Ardeth avoide the cut and beheads the saber weilding Sith in one move. The Axe weilding Sith backs off for a second and then attacks again. Ardeth slices the axe head clean off the pole and is hit hard by the Sith. Ardeth defeats him after a brief struggle. He stands, looking for Annubin, but he is gone. ARDETH (Shouting) Sith coward, face me. He runs off down the passage way in pursuit. Dar've turns a corner and enters a much larger chamber. Darth Sedrin stands in the middle. DARTH SEDRIN (with digust) Greetings Jedi. Sedrin spits on the floor in front of Dar've and them smirks broadly. DAR'VE (unimpressed and bored) Could we just dispense with the plesantries. DARTH SEDRIN Can't we just at least catch up. It's been a long time and we've both changed so much. Dar've stares at him with contempt. DAR'VE Stop this. Embrace the true side nature of the force and... Sedrin stetches his hand out and throws Dar've across the chamber screaming in anger. DARTH SEDRIN (angry) True nature of the Force? Don't lecture me about the true nature of the force. You're the one who taught me the nature of the Force and then betrayed us all. Dar've starts to pick himself up. DARTH SEDRIN If we are talking about staying true to ourselves and to the Force then it is I who has never faultered. DAR'VE I turnned my back of those ways. I came to realise my own heart and what direction I should take. DARTH SEDRIN Do you think the new Jedi concil will ever trust you? Why do you think they were content to let you live out your life in the middle of nowhere on this planet, running errands? When your padawan learns the truth do you think he will trust you anymore? Assuming he lives long enough to find out. DAR'VE Ardeth. Dar've pulls out his com unit and Sedrin attacks it with his lightning, destroying it. DARTH SEDRIN It seems fitting does it not? Master against Master. Apprentice against Apprentice. Dar've draws his saber and lights it. DARTH SEDRIN For your betrayal Master, I shall destroy you. DAR'VE You have no right to call me master anymore. Sedrin waves his hand and many Zombie Sith rush into the chamber, carrying various weapons. Some sabers, some swords, some axes. DAR'VE Coward, will you not face me on your own. Sedrin is backing towards an entrace to the chamber. DARTH SEDRIN Of course not. I don't have my army of lackies for nothing. A saber lights behind Dar've and he swings round. JARED Need some help? DAR'VE I thought you didn't trust a saber, or me. JARED Sith you may have been, but no Jedi deserves to die in such a way. As for the saber, a Sith i dispatched dropped it and it seemed a shame to waste it. Besides, my sword was a little worse for wear. The Zombie Sith are sytematicaly dispatched by the two Jedi. Beheadings a plenty as they are not easy to stop. They weattle them down to only a few. The two Jedi circle the remaining 4 or 5 Sith. One attacks Dar've and he cuts it down easily. From the side Annubin runs into the chamber. ANNUBIN Master the Jedi are.... He see's the Jedi facing down the remaining Sith and backs away from them. ARDETH (running down the passage way toward Annubin) Face me coward. Annubin heads for another exit and directs one of the Sith towards the passage way. Jared draws closer to one of the Sith and stares at him, waiting for him to move, and then a look of recognision crosses his face. JARED I know you. ANCIENT SITH We meet again Jedi. I see that I get to kill you for a second time. Ardeth bursts out of the passageway, with the beheded sith falling out before him. All three jedi fight the remaining Sith in the chamber. Jared faces the Ancient Sith on his own. JARED This is a different world to the one we lived in. And you are not the same as you used to be. Now your're just a puppet of a fanatical Lord. ANCIENT SITH Time to die Jedi. JARED I think not. Jared and the Ancient Sith fight. Jared manages to cut him across the middle. The ancient Sith reacts as if he is about to fall and then stands back up unaffected. ANCIENT SITH You are correct. Much has changed. Their fight continues and Jared manages to cut the Ancient Sith across the head. A look of surprise crosses his face. (Pan down to his midrift) The Sith's saber cut's through his side. They both fall. ARDETH Jared!!! Ardeth quickly dispatches his final enemy and runs to Jareds side. Dar've stands just behind Ardeth as he kneels. ARDETH Just lie still, we'll get you some medical treatment. JARED (struggling to talk) I'd be dead by the time they got here besides, I should be dead anyway. ARDETH We'll destroy Sedrin for this. JARED Indeed you will, but release the hate. Do not face him with anger in your heart. Jared holds out a hand to Dar've who kneels by his side, and takes his hand. JARED Go and deal with your former pupil. (dieing) Remember the ancient ways. Jared dies, and his hand drops to the floor. Ardeth takes Jared's sword from his belt and puts it in his own. ARDETH I'll always remember. Jared's body slowly fades and his clothing sinks to the ground. Ardeth continues ot look away from his Master and then stands. ARDETH (not looking at Dar've) Is it true? DAR'VE That I was once a Sith? Yes it is true. Ardeth hangs his head, shaking it, hands to his eyes. ARDETH I thought he was just trying to trick me, seed doubt and fear in my mind. I now doubt my own training. Am I Sith? Dar've grabs Ardeth by the shoulders spinning him round. DAR'VE Nonsense. You are not Sith. Search your heart and you will see what is true. ARDETH I just don't know. DAR'VE I will discuss this at length with you Ardeth, but now we must deal with Sedrin. Are you with me or will you desert me? Ardeth looks up at his Master. ARDETH I said I would go with you no matter what. If I do not, I betray what being a Jedi means. DAR'VE Come now. Dar've runs off towards the exit. Ardeth gives a final salute (something) to where Jared's clothing lies and runs off after his master. CUT TO: Sedrin and Annubin are running through the forest. DARTH SEDRIN We must recal as many Sith as possible. We must not let my former Master succeed. ANNUBIN How will we defeat them master? The Jedi have dispatched all we have sent at them. Sedrin scowls at his apprentice. DARTH SEDRIN One has already fallen. So will the other two. They run into a clearing. Sedrin stops. DARTH SEDRIN Here will do. He sits and places the crystal in front of him. Annubin looks on. Sedrin begins to concentrate on the crystal. DAR'VE That's enough Sedrin. This ends now. The two Jedi stand on the edge of the clearing. DARTH SEDRIN Indeed it shall end. An end for all Jedi across the galaxy. You see I realised what this was when I accidentally resurected your friend. This crystal hold power over life. If I can resurect one Jedi miles away, I can resurect all Sith on this planet in one go. DAR'VE You would plunge the entire galaxy into darkness? DARTH SEDRIN It has already begun. Sedrin waves his hand and many Zombie Sith appear from behind trees and head for the Jedi. There are too many for them this time and they know it. DAR'VE Try to get to Sedrin. If we do this will all end. He contols these things. ARDETH There's too many of them. Sedrin concentrates, building up power. The air sparks around him. More Sith keep arriving. Ardeth and Dar've cut them down, but more keep comming. ARDETH I do not hate you my Master. We are not Sith. Sedrin begins to scowl and then stretches out his hand to his apprentice. DARTH SEDRIN I need your strength. Energy surges out of Annubin and he arches his back in pain. Energy surges through the two Sith, they begin to scream in pain. (CUT TO QUICK FLASHBACK OF JARED DYING) JARED Sedrin thinks that crystal is some kind of powerful Force conduit. He thinks he can bring back all the Sith that have ever lived. The only reason I returned is because I was trapped within. He will do the same. (CUT BACK TO THE WOODS) The energy sparks through the the two Sith. A flash of light then silence and the crystal drops to the floor. Ardeth and Dar've stand facing many Sith around them. The are all motionless. The Sith all fall around them no longer with any power. (All disapear maybe) Dar've walks over and picks up the crystal He looks into it. (CLOST UP OF CRYSTAL) Sedrins face is just visible in the crystal, trapped. DAR'VE He caused his own torment. I don't know if this is worse than death. ARDETH His apprentice was just following his lead. He did not deserve it. DAR'VE No apprentice follows his master blindly. We all make our choices and must live with the consequences. They walk off. DISSOLVE TO: Ardeth places Jared's clothing on a pire. He circles it once and then lights it from a torch. He walks back, kneeling in front of Dar've's hut. He takes Jared's sword, holding it in front of his face, hand by the side of it, his eyes closed. ARDETH I shall always remember, the ancient ways. (Slowly disolve to a flashback shot of Jared and Ardeth walking through the forest) (voice changes to Jared's) For they are our roots and the energy that binds us to life all the way through time. Always remember that the power of a Jedi and the Force are greater than any weapon forged and any will that my challenge it. When you truly feel the Force in and around, you will never be unarmed or unprepaired. With only goodness in your heart you can stand against the greatest of enemies and be unaffected by any evil or malice. (Slowly fade back to Ardeth) Ardeth draws his hand along the bladeand it illuminates as hit goes. (FINAL SHOT BEHIND ARDETH, SWORD RAISED ABOVE HIS HEAD, GLOWING IN THE DARKNESS.FIRE RAGING INFRONT) WHITE OUT FROM SWORD (CLOSING CREDITS)
